  1. The Rev. Father Brian Vander Wel says:

The Vestry of Christ Church in Accokeek has issued the following statement:

“Accokeek, MD. December 31, 2012. The Vestry of Christ Church in Accokeek, MD is saddened by the news of the unexpected death of the Rt. Rev. Jane Holmes Dixon, retired Suffragan Bishop and former Bishop pro tempore of the Diocese of Washington. While our conflict with Bishop Dixon is well-documented, we pray for her to be at rest and that God’s comfort would surround all those who are grieving her loss.

“Christ Church (established in 1698) is a parish of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington, a member of the American Anglican Council and a biblically faithful member of the worldwide Anglican Communion.”
